We always strive hard to maintain that difficult close contact with the public we owe so much to, so that we can look at our legacy and take pride.

HISTORY

Narciso Ibáñez Serrador (Montevideo 04/07/1935), is one of the most recognized and award-winning television filmmakers. Descendant of two families of great artists, he returned to Spain in 1963 with his mother, Pepita Serrador who was the first famous theater actress and essential in his life. Chicho already had an extensive career as a filmmaker in Argentina. At 22, his activity in the audiovisual media was very intense, which only added to his work in theater and radio. His father, Narciso Ibáñez Menta, was his best collaborator and friend, and together they formed a demanding duo that always guaranteed the quality and rigor in their work. In Spain Chicho moved towards TVE, a newly created TV channel and in need of talent and new ideas. After showing them a pilot of “Mañana puede ser verdad” ("Tomorrow may be true"), it took them only a couple of hours to call him back. Making television in Spain changed from that moment. Success came quickly with important awards for his creations which gave TVE great recognition and put Spain on the international map for television.

Why was PROINTEL created?

Chicho has always been a torrent of ideas and creativity, so creating his own production company was only natural; a place in which to develop his own productions respecting his maxim: absolute creative freedom. Ever since that year, thousands of hours of television, film, theater and advertising, support the accumulated experience in the production of audiovisual content that have been enjoyed by generations of viewers.

Some cult movies have sprung from the cinéma d’auteur.

(Who Can Kill a Child?) as well as the iconic series Historias para no dormir (Stories to keep you awake), now considered a cult.
